I blew it

Hey, It's Ramon —

At 25, I was in grad school, living with my violin teacher.

This guy was the epitome of success.

He played on a $25 million violin. He'd been a studio musician on ALL the big-time movies. And for some reason… he liked me.

He liked me so much that he got me a $50,000 instrument to play on when I couldn't afford my own.

He fought to get me a music scholarship at Cal State Northridge.

He let me stay in his pool house.

And then he helped me land an amazing gig — I was going to be in a major motion picture, pretending to play the violin.

(They call it "sidelining." Sounds glorious. It's mostly standing around for 8 hours until they call you to film… and even then, you may or may not make it into the movie.)

The day of the gig, I got this nauseous feeling in my stomach.

And then came the thoughts.

"I'm not good enough to be in this movie." (Ironic — I wasn't even actually playing.)

"What if I mess up and never get called back?"

"People are going to laugh at me."

All that head trash we all deal with.

So I packed some weed into a pipe and smoked it.

I got so high I couldn't see straight.

I was in no shape to drive… so I texted the contractor and said I couldn't make the gig.

And that was the beginning of the end of my professional music career.

I had sabotaged myself.

I wanted to be a professional violinist so badly.

I knew how lucky I was to even be in that position.

I'd been studying the Law of Attraction for years at that point.

And yet, I watched my career go up in smoke.

It took me a decade to understand what actually happened that day.

Once I did, I went from barely paying the bills in a tiny apartment…

to living in my dream home with my own tennis court, getting paid to go on amazing vacations with awesome people… and truly living a blessed life.

Over the past year, I’ve been coaching a lot of high performers…

Every. Single. One. struggles with the same thing I did.

I call it The Sabotage Spike.

It's the thing that shows up RIGHT BEFORE:

  • The fulfilling career

  • The big income jump

  • The relationship you actually want

  • The decision that would change your health

It's the self-sabotage that hits hardest the moment you get close to something you really want. And it's not a discipline problem. It's not a character flaw. It's your nervous system doing exactly what it was built to do — and once you understand it, you can finally move through it.

On Monday, June 22nd, I'm teaching a live online class where I break the whole thing down:

  • What the Sabotage Spike actually is

  • Why it happens (hint: it’s not because "you're lazy")

  • How to finally let yourself have the breakthrough

It's called The Sabotage Spike, and if you've ever watched yourself pull back right when things were about to get good… this is the one to be in the room for.

I'll tell you more this week. But I wanted you to hear the story first — because I lived this. I'm not teaching you something I read in a book. I'm teaching you the thing that cost me a career I loved… and what I wish I'd understood back then.

Talk soon, Ramon

P.S. If you’ve ever struggled with Self Sabotage right before something BIG is about to happen… you won’t want to miss this class.
