Independence
Hey, It's Ramon
Happy 4th.
If you're in the U.S., I hope there's a burger in one hand and a sparkler in the other. And if you're anywhere else... consider this your invitation to celebrate something better than a country's freedom.
Your own.
We got pickleball players coming over in a bit, then I'm gonna go stand over a grill and pretend I know what I'm doing.
But before the fireworks start, I wanna talk to you about independence for a sec.
Because here's the thing about the 4th...
A bunch of guys got together in 1776 and basically said, "we're done letting someone on the other side of an ocean decide how we live."
They declared independence from a ruler.
And I love that. But most of us are still handing our power to a ruler we can't even see.
The circumstance that "ruins" the day.
The comment that sends us spinning.
The market, the weather, the guy who cut us off on the freeway.
We wake up feeling good, high vibe, ready to go...
and then something bumps us up against the guardrail and off we go.
You know the feeling. You start the morning like a champion and by 2pm you're a completely different person.
You didn't do anything wrong.
Your nervous system just hit the edge of what feels familiar and pulled you back to home base, same as it always does. That's your set point doing its job. And a set point can be retrained.
Which is the whole point of today.
Independence was never about the barbecue or the fireworks. It's an inside job. You are all-powerful right where you're standing, no matter the conditions around you, because you always get to choose how you respond. Nobody can vote on that but you.
Now, here's the deal.
The founders had muskets and a printing press.
You've got something better. You've got the ability to declare independence from your own programming, and you don't have to fire a single shot. (Better deal, honestly.)
So how do you stage your own little revolution? Three keys. Same three I talked about this morning in the WhatsApp group.
One. The nervous system. This is the ground floor. If your body's been living in fight-or-flight (and most of us are, running on low-grade stress and calling it normal), you have to teach it it's safe before anything else works. I've got a free 5-minute tool for exactly this that I'm finishing up for you this week. Keep an eye out.
Two. Your beliefs. A subconscious belief is just something you decided was true so long ago you stopped questioning it. (We all got a big ol' dose of programming before we were 7.) You're a product of what you believe. So it pays to get curious, poke around, and let go of the stuff that was never yours to carry.
Three. Aligned action. You gotta ground the new energy in something physical. Do the thing that excites you most in the moment. That's how the new state sticks.
Nervous system feels safe. Beliefs get updated. Action locks it in.
That’s your revolution… and the good news is, there are no muskets required.
Alright. Go enjoy the burgers and the sparklers… or the Quinoa!
And maybe, somewhere between the potato salad and the fireworks, declare independence from the one ruler who's actually been running the show.
Your programming.
Talk soon,
Ramon
P.S. Everything I just laid out, the nervous system work, the belief digging, the aligned action... that's exactly what we do together inside the Inner Circle.
It's the room where you stop trying to spot your own blind spots alone (it’s really hard sometimes, that's kind of the point)
and let a community reflect them back to you instead. If you've been feeling the urge to take the next step, this is a pretty good week to walk through the door. https://innercircle.creatingthroughenergy.com
